Our policy paper Brexit and EU budget in Politico

Our policy paper Brexit and the EU budget: threat or opportunity?, is mentionned in an article on the European news website POLITICO entitled "THE NEVER ENDING STORY OF THE EU BUDGET BLACK HOLE", on March 16, 2017.

THE NEVER ENDING STORY OF THE EU BUDGET BLACK HOLE: An astonishingly high-level audience crowded into The Library Wednesday afternoon to discuss Brexit and the EU budget. Indeed, the audience was as interesting as the content of the two papers that prompted the event: a new one by Jörg Haas and Eulalia Rubio for Notre Europe (summary here) and Alex Barker’s earlier Center for European Reform paper.  As one wag noted to Playbook: “Just look around if you want to know the Commission’s approach. Half of the Commission is trying to find out what is going on because no one’s told them anything.”

Spotted: Sandra Kramer (Juncker’s cabinet), Michael Hager (Oettinger’s chief of staff), Edward Bannerman (Katainen cabinet), Peter Curwen (UKREP), Patrick Schafer (Brexit advisor at the German permanent representation), and representatives from Spain, Poland, Ireland, the Netherlands, Finland and Denmark, as well as from top flight companies such as Airbus, Boeing, Rolls Royce, BT, Bayer, banks including JP Morgan and Standard Chartered, and the federation of German industries (BDI).
