Our director, Yves Bertoncini, speaks at a conference organised by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Intelligence and Research and The National Intelligence Council on "European Elections 2014" in Washington on 20 March 2014. This conference aims to explore the main issues of the European Parliament elections and their implications for Europe and the United States.


Yves Bertoncini speaks together with Adriaan Schout (Clingendael) in a session dealing with the "Power Balance in the EU" and adressing the following issues:
What are relations likely to be between the EU institutions?
How will Europeanelections affect selection of leaders in the European Commission and Council?
What arethe possible coalition scenarios?
Should we expect shifts in political forces in the EP?
Will the relationship between EP and national parliaments change?
